What’s On At Wall?
The short guided site tours that we have been running at Wall on selected days throughout 2026 are coming to an end, with the last one being held on Saturday 10th October at 11.30am. Thank you for everyone who has visited us. Booking is not required, please just turn up outside the museum.
As part of Heritage Open Days 2026, our team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable English Heritage Volunteers will be offering guided tours of Wall Roman Site on the following dates.
Friday 11th September: 11am – 12pm
Saturday 12th September: 11am – 12pm
Sunday 13th September: 11am – 12pm

Investigate Wall on Sunday 18th October with Dr Mike Hodder and his popular guided tour around Wall village. This tour is more in-depth than the short Saturday tours, and therefore booking is essential. £10 including refreshments. Please contact us to book. Suitable clothing and footwear is advised for all of our tours.
Shane Kelleher County Archaeologist for Staffordshire will be joining us in Wall Village Hall to discuss the recent work that has been taking place in the county of Staffordshire. Tickets are £5 on the door.
Wings to the Past in an innovative project that uses archaeology and heritage projects to support personal resilience amongst Royal Air Force personnel and their families. Archaeology offers a unique opportunity for personnel to spend time together, learn new skills and more about the heritage of their area. Suzy Watts, founder and director will be joining us in Wall Village Hall. Tickets are £5 on the door.
People were living in Wall and its surroundings long before the Roman army arrived. This talk from Dr Mike Hodder in Wall Village Hall will describe prehistoric remains in the area, from stone tools made in the distant past to Iron Age farms near the “grey wood” that gave Letocetum its name. Tickets are £5 on the door.
The Wall Site Museum is just over 100 years old. The Roman baths building and mansio (then known as the ‘villa’) were first excavated in 1912-14 by the North Staffordshire Field Club under the supervision of the then landowner Mr R.J.K Mott. A site museum was quickly established nearby to house and display the finds. Many of the finds you can see today date from these excavations.
